Hacked?

My first attempt at logging onto the board in several days generated a board message that I had exceeded the number of attempts to log in and asked that I enter the "phrase" from one of those scrambled word boxes. Is this something new everyone has to do at least once or has someone else been trying to log on as me?

Me too, had to reset password twice before successfully logging back in. I saw the phrase thing, but just went to the control panel and started over.

Apparently there is some type of bot attack going around on phpbb boards. I am looking into ways to solve this issue, but I have not found an easy solution yet.
