For Sale: Old Town Canadienne ( SOLD !!!)

Post by thebob.com » Fri Feb 11, 2011 6:22 pm

Older model of the "classic" Old Town Canadienne:

Rescued from storage after being used 2 or 3 times on lake/day paddles.
In near new condition; that is NOT an exaggeration.
Dark green in color, with light tan colored, vinyl gunwales.
Wood thwarts, wood/cane seats, wood portage yoke; all in near new condition.

A primo tandem canoe.

A few photos are currently available; more can be taken if you are interested in seeing specific areas of the canoe.

2 like new, Aviron Clement (Canadian company) wood paddles, could be included in a package deal, or just the canoe may be purchased.Your option.

Asking price: $800.00

To answer some other questions:
1. No, the boat does not have a keel.

2. The length of the boat is 17 feet 2 inches. It has a 900 pound capacity. Weight is about 75 lbs.

3. The layup is fiberglass

4. The gunwales & decking are vinyl.

5. I don't want to take trades; unless you have a nice condition Whitesell Descender.

7. It has 2 inches of rocker.

8. Quite a few reviews of the canoe by owner/paddlers are available on paddling.net.

9. There is more information available by doing a simple search on Old Town Canoe's website.

Nice boat Bob, and I do mean NICE! It's obvious that this boat has been WELL taken care of. It's rare that you see one in such good condition this far south. If I was in the market for a mirror, your Canadienne would work for that too. :D I haven't seen that tan gunwale used for a while. Although, I do have a few sticks of it in stock. Curious...what year model is it? I know I'm about to preach to the choir, but to find out the year model of a boat's hull locate the hull identification plate. The last two numbers will identify the last two numbers in the year it was built. For example, if the plate reads MMN50334H909, then the hull is an 2009 model. Thanks!

Dave,

It is a 1982 model.
I have a copy of the original work order.
It is in near new condition.

It is tentatively "SOLD" to someone who did some research, made a wise decision, and is going to end up the owner of classic canoe; which just happens to be a very pretty, and a fine handling canoe.

Bob, do you need some money for food or something? :poke: I can't believe you're selling this boat! I hope whoever gets it appreciates what a classic it is.

Not hurting for much of anything Dave; except for space to store the remainder of my fleet (now 17/down from 23 last year).........plus my wife's vehicle, my pickup truck, and 3 motorcycles.

P.S. Here are a couple of more, of my old "beaters".
