UofA gets a triple double!

Post by Shep » Thu Feb 10, 2011 5:58 pm

3 days canceled, two weeks in a row.

I should be productive tomorrow morning, but would anyone be up for an ELF run on the White or something else particularly convenient to Fayetteville tomorrow afternoon?

Yeah, I've never been on the White river. Looking at the ozarkpages site, it looks like a low-flow run might be maximum silliness, but this much snow has made me punchy. :)

I have ran the west fork a few times. The farther north you run it the deeper the water will get since the river flows south to north.

Parts can still be a little shallow at 5 feet if you go pretty far south, but above that it starts to get pretty decent for a local run.

4' will be really shallow but you migh find something between west fork and fayetteville. Jon will have to comment more on that as I haven't ran that particular streach, I usually take out at the boat ball west fork parking lot, and will put in as far south as I can go so long as the water looks high enough.

The best part is shuttle is super easy.

Winslow to the the 71 rest stop is my favorite section, but you need at least 6' and it's still bony then. The hogeye run on the Illinois is a quick fun one. Better than the lower sections of the west fork I think.

I'm down for something this afternoon, say around 2pm as I wrap some stuff at work. That's 2pm put in.

I would seriously doubt that West Fork of White will come up enough to run. And if it does, it'll be when we're all headed out tomorrow to better places.

Hogeye would be fun and easy shuttle. But it's low also.

Touch base around 12-1230. See if melt is really happening.

START PLANNING FOR TOMORROW!!!!!!

Yep, my boss is ok with taking time off but he's given me that... it would be much better if your appearance was noted in the office this afternoon for our CEO.

UGH. TOMORROW IS FREEDOM.

iffin you all do make it out on the WF be sure to take a look for trashy spots and/ or illegal dump sites and give a report.

The west fork watershed alliance is about to have their annual creek cleanup on May 14th and were looking for reports on where the trash is located this year.

I'm sure some of the same old spots are trashed out, but having word of new ones is a big help.

I'm with howard's statements on that creek. Winslow down is my fave when its got enough water. It is also possibly one of the most trashed out parts of the creek. It would be a close competition between it and Baptist ford to tilly willy.
