Richland Snowmelt Saturday
I've seen this set up before. With the forecast temps on this weekend there is a distinct possibility of running Richland snowmelt on Saturday. There's ample precip on the ground. It won't melt any tonight very little tomorrow an then Friday starting melting. If it warms up as they say then Saturday afternoon it might go.
Notification complete. Gauge watching begin.

Wish I wasn't working this weekend..
Richland is gorgeous enough without all the winter scenery to accent it.
Enjoy

What do you think happened here!!! Think the creek froze up some? 5 degrees at Witt Springs and you know it was even colder last night!!

Went out of the gauge's operating temp range probably. We see that every year when it gets cold enough. Electrons don't flow so well when chilly. Most cell phones, watches, calculators, etc. will have some trouble at around 0 deg.
Hopefully we'll see the gauge thaw and head straight up on Saturday!

Re: Richland Snowmelt Saturday
Wow, with those snow totals, looks like it will be time to roll out the big rigs with higher ground clearance, and bring the chainsaws to clear the way!
My thinking is, the temps for Pelsor are predicted to be:
Fri = high 38, dropping back to 16
Sat = high 43, then dropping back to 31
Sun =high 55, dropping back to 33
Mon = 58
In years past, I think it had to hit high 40's or 50 and above for a couple of days before we got our snow-melt runs. 38 Friday and not above freezing until Sat 10 AM, hitting 40 at 1 PM, I'm thinking the chances of anything more than a scrape-down run on Saturday are pretty slim.
That may be why Dale mentioned Sunday....
Dale, are you going up earlier to give us level and road reports?
And by the way, anybody interested in playing hooky on Monday or Tuesday (high 61)? (I could probably break free one of those days too.)

Re: Richland Snowmelt Saturday
One thing to remember is that this snow was rather dry and powdery. Think I saw on another thread that some "weatherman" said it was a 20:1 snow. I realize others are better at this than me, but something to consider.

Re: Richland Snowmelt Saturday
OK, so if it doesn't go on Sunday, should we all just go to Dales just in case with hill boat sledding and/or chainsaw bunkhouse clearing as our back-up plan?

WELL, I need to do something to get out of the house!! Can I bring my chain saw? Kim won't let me use it in the house! :twisted:
