I have never canoed Lee Creek before, I looked around last weekened at what I though would be good put in / take out points. What is the most popular?
It seems like if I where to put in at the hwy 220 low water bridge (actually on fall creek -the one after 220 turns into gravel) and take out at the Lee Creek Community (down Lee Creek road then down Creek Fork rd) it would give us a pretty long float with a fairly short shuttle.
Are there any rapids to speak of or at least fast moving places in this stretch? What is the best part of Lee Creek?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Lee Creek put in/take out
Here's some info resources:

I'll let one of the locals answer as to "most popular"

Re: Lee Creek put in/take out
you can put in at that bridge on fall cr but you might have to cross it depending on which way you come in. the normal run is the 220 bridge to the USFS takeout about 1.5 miles downstream.
Re: Lee Creek put in/take out
Lots of rapids on Lee Cr! Kayakers looking to play concentrate on the wave-filled short 1+ mile stretch from Hwy 220 to the USFS takeout (on the road to Lee Cr. Community then right at the USFS sign). Rapids there are class 2+ and quite pushy at higher water. DOwn to Lee Cr. Community provides another few miles of class I/II rapids. Past that the creek slows down even more, but it can be paddled all the way to the lake. The next major takeout is Natural Dam, which is maybe 8-10 more miles (I can't really remember). You can also boat from Fall Cr. bridge (upstream of 220, river right) when Fall Cr. has enough water, and it's about 2 miles of swifter class 2+ to Hwy 220, but Lee will be pretty big water when that happens, and there are more tree hazards in that section to watch out for. Also can run down from just downstream of Devil's Den Park, for about 4 miles of fast class 2+ water with several potentially bad tree jungles. That last section isn't paddled as often due mostly to the tree hazards that can be a real pain.
