Re: poaching a river
It doesn't seem like they poached anything, so much as just worked within the confines of a VERY sticky political environment. Excellent story!
Stookesberry has been one of my favorite, if not number one, heroes of modern kayaking for many reasons. Not least of which is his tenacity, drive, and imagination for full-on multi-faceted exploration. Not only is he pushing the limits of what is runnable in a piece of plastic (which he and his team no doubt are), but he is also pushing the limits of what is possible on a geo-political scale. This is absolutely riveting stuff. I sure hope I get to sit around a campfire with this guy and a few cold beers someday. I’m sure the stories he could tell would be close to un-matched. Thanks for the link Chuck!
