I recently upgraded to an iphone and I’m wanting to get opinions about what the best river level application is for the Ozark Mountain/Arkansas area. Initially, when I started my search I didn’t realize that there were so many apps offered by different folks. Proof is in the pudding! With that in mind, I’m asking my fellow paddlers…Which iphone river level application worked/works best for you?

I use 3 things on my Iphone

1. The river guide app is worth the $1.99
It is a national data base with USGS guage reading on rivers from all 50 states. It also has a map feature to the put in and take outs on most runs.

2. The weather channel app is free and the best feature is the 24 hr. precpatation on the map feature. You can get a minute by minute update to what water sheds are getting hammered.

3. Fishies ozark page site loads prefectly on Iphone safari. Once you open it hit the + at the botton of the screen and and it to the Home screen. Then its opens up just like an app.

Also check "in between swims" on Itunes. It is a whitewater podcast that has tons of good trip reports and gear reviews.

which gets you a lower bandwidth version of the gauge page.

Some of the other links still work on that page too. Namely the old Accuweather mini-radars under "RAdar Low Bandwidth" I can't believe those links still work after 10 years or more, but they do and they'll pull up pretty fast if your signal is too weak for TWC app.
