Wow Chuck, that is some big water on the spillway! Where's the 19 footer that Noel ran? Is that the one up above the biggest drop, the one we called Flying Dog?

Re: West Fork of the Horsehead
It was pretty unbelievable to get back from North Carolina to fire up a steep creek in my backyard (literally, I'm from Clarksville). Really great run, currently with some wood problems. After a bunch of really bad portages we were way behind schedule. We got to the vehicle at 8:30, with the trees on the side of the creek, it had been dark on us for about the last half hour to fourty five minutes (of the run, not just the lake paddle out). Super sketchy when dark with so much wood. Joe did a great job showing us down, and it was a blast. Thanks for giving us that call chuck, wish I could have done barberry yesterday, damn this whole college thing. But it could be worse I guess, I could be Matt Taylor. For all of you currently enjoying the mass amounts of boating available you should thank Matt. If it wasn't for his gruesome schedule that he cannot skip a day on, I'm sure Arkansas would be as dry as usual. So heres to you Matt, and thanks for such quality runs
It could be worse, it could stop raining

Re: West Fork of the Horsehead
Chuck, have you guys ever checked out the waterfalls on the "east branch of the west fork of Horsehead."? There's a couple of other falls across the small ridge on the east side of the main branch that are about as big as the two waterfalls that have been run. Both are near 20 feet tall and both with shallow but possibly do-able landings. Might be possible to carry over while running W Horsehead to bag those two on a big water day...
Congrats on the run Spanke!
