Need Kayak for Large Set Guy

Post by nickcoleman85 » Mon Sep 06, 2010 10:02 pm

I am currently trying to get a kayak in order to start running creeks and do some river running. I am 6'2, 260 lbs with a 32 in inseam. Also, I need a boat with a cockpit that has at least a 20 in width. I have tried out a couple of boats but they are extremely uncomfortable and the fact that I have had past football injuries with my knees and ankles make getting in and staying in make them downright painful  . I know that most boats are made for the average size person, but I know there must be some boats out there that could adequately and comfortably accomodate my size. I have read that are some play boats like the Jackson Super Fun that would support my size as well as some creek runners like the Liquid Logic Remix 79 and the Grande Jeffe. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any boats that would work for me so I can get involved with this great sport?

I am looking for a used boat that might fit my specifications. I would greatly appreciate a heads up if anyone has any used boats that are available or knows of someone that might have one that they are willing to sell that would work for me.

You can reach me at my email at:

I have a Perception Overflow X with brand new spray skirt (XL tunnel) I would sell for 300$. It is in pretty good shape with scratches but no oil canning. Call Ray @ 662-288-1084 if interested.
