Homemade Whitewater Park
Proof you don't need a million dollars to create a WW park. Mike Legoffe has been working on some play features near his home. Using a little ingenuity, some wood, rocks, a lot of hard work and some experimentation, he's created a really fun play spot just an hour and half from Dallas.
He shared his creation with us this weekend and we had an awesome time. His handmade park is on the Brazos River. We had just under 500 cfs. He says it's ideal at 900 cfs. There are three features. The first is deep enough to cartwheel and loop. Somewhat similar to the first feature at Dierks. The second and third features are good for surfing and spinning. Not quite the Ocoee, but 13.5 hours closer, so it salvaged our weekend.
Here are some pics from yesterday.
