Saw your post on Mountainbuzz just now about the recovery. What do you think's going on? Hard to believe they haven't found her yet.
On the upside, really enjoyed rafting with you! Thanks for taking Cyndy down the rest of Brown's so she could take some pics.

Well, I looked at the gage at Nathrop and they have had good rain and the flow there is 1000 cfs when I looked. So, that makes it more difficult for the recovery crew.
Looks like they are expecting these rain induced flows for the next few days as well, so recovery work is on hold.
I did get some information that last week a cadaver dog has alerted at Frog Rock so they think she might still be there.
Hard to believe that they have not by now removed every rock in that little drop to find this girl and give some closure to the family and friends.
Terrible situation. Several people have died in this sieve. I am not much for changing rivers but the ARK even headwaters has had so much man made alterations over the years, it seems logical to push a few rocks into the sieve and remove this death trap. There would be little if any change to the rapid, just a dramatic increase in boater safety. The boating community and their families have lost way too many people to this sieve. My opinion for what it is worth.
In the meantime, the young ladies family and friends need our thoughts and prayers to help them get thru this terrible accident.
Having Cyndy on the raft was a delight for us. She kept us laughing all the rest of the run. Hope the photos she took worked out.

Terry Prater echoed your ideas about eliminating the hazard after seeing the recovery effort when we lined our boats around it. Seems like a no brainer to me as well.

For those who don't keep up with Mountainbuzz, searchers still have not found Kim:

I check on this recovery several times a day and also check the area newspapers.
So far no luck. Feedback I am getting is that entire area around the frog rock rapid sieve must be hollowed out like a cave system. From the photos it looks like a jumble of rocks. But, looks can be deceiving.
My heart goes out to the family and friends of this young lady.
