But we did end up with 4 new paddles to add to our collection. They had an over stock of paddles and we got them at half price... ok one was full price  but you cant pass a deal like that up! Carrie ended up with a laminated beaver tail paddle and a solid otter tail paddle, both light wood. I ended up with a solid otter tail and a solid solo paddle both darker woods. We are both super happy with them and we plan on making a trip to fed-ex monday to get them home safely!!!
The shop was so much fun to visit, we met Cindy there, the co owner of American Traders and we got to chat a little. Exchanged some stories and paddle knowledge, and we explored the shop. The shop is a converted barn, it was quite cozy and inviting, All the art was local and everything was hand made! everything had that rustic feel to it. If i had all the money in the world, I would have had one of everything and my house would look like it came right out of a Maine post card
Carrie just reminded me that they also had old style Toboggans, I remember using them when I was growing up here in Mass, and used them still when I go to visit home in Vermont! A great way to get hurt while trying to have fun on the cold winter days  haha, Those old varnished toboggans where wicked fast!!! and so much fun when you had 5 kids on them going mock ten down a hill
Anyways... if you ever find yourself in southern Vermont, I highly suggest you take a trip over and check them out! It was a great visit and we got out the door with some great gear!
