I have seen, and taken the accompanying survey, for this--->

many times, but I have not seen anything beyond what is on the ozark creek pages about it.
Does anyone know what happened to this or anything about it's status?
Thanks

Re: What Happened to the Arkansas Whitewater Course?
Despite over 750 survey responses and a very good business plan, we couldn't attract the necessary funding for it. Hard to get any projects funded in NW Arkansas other than new strip malls or condos. I got tired of trying to convince people that it would work and be a good deal for the community. I'd just like to see some type of course built at some point. I still think a pumped course is more likely than convincing the powers that be to release water anywhere (not to mention a lack of gradient on all the streams below dams). (We came as close as I think we ever will at Cove Lake.)
Anyway, that's the status.

Re: What Happened to the Arkansas Whitewater Course?
Maybe we should build a pumped course right next to the Rogers mall? All the cars driving by, Park benches for an audience, people watching everybody surf and float, raft rentals, concessions, and all the kids saying, "Mommie Daddy, I want to play in the river". Might as well convince our NWA outfitters to set up an outlet store across the street. It could happen! I think the three things to think about when opening a business are location, location, and location!

We are all afflicted with Cognitive Dissonance. The greater our religious, social, financial or political affiliation, the greater the affliction. We hear what we want to hear. We believe what we want to believe. Truth becomes irrelevant.
