If level holds, I plan on putting in at Ponca tomorrow and if it doesn't hold, will definitely be putting in somewhere.
There may be a motley crew from F'ville and surrounding area arriving at Ponca tomorrow morning. As w/ previous posts, the time has yet to be determined. Will follow rain, river levels and posts.

David Dinan is taking the twins in the raft and some folks from work. He is expecting a crack of noon trip, and to put in at Steel Creek (to Kyles). I'm loaning hm some raft paddles

Mary McFann and I planning on tandeming the red Endurall with her dog Chloe, but I'd like an earlier start and shuttle. We may go back over Sunday to do a different section (lower) so Mary can try out a kayak for her first time or to take the faster 17' Northwoods. Last time we took it, we did 21.4 miles and Mary said we should have set the shuttle to Rush and done 30. Chloe says she does not care as long as she gets to come.

Mary is working tonight so I will leave her a message when we decide where and when to meet. I'll be in the Suburban. Cell if you can reach me is 479 seven two one 9101. I can cram 5-10 drivers in at Kyles to go back up to top as long as someone gives me a ride back to Ponca or Steel creek in afternoon

Gary left his truck window down again, is it raining up there again?
Still plan to come tomorrow unless something changes big with the levels.

We are watching this thread with interest but still undecided between the Buffalo and the Mulberry ... river levels will tip the scales one way or the other.

What time are y'all talking about putting in at Ponca? Don't know if folks are anticipating a rendezvous to shuttle vehicles or just a put-in time or what.

We'd probably just pay BOC or Lost Valley for a shuttle since I think not fussing with losing an hour on the front end is worth it to the millionth power, and frankly I like to spend money to support those Newton County businesses when I can.

Eric, I would be ok putting in at steel creek though will be very busy with the rentals don't you think putting in? Looks like either way any section will be good tomorrow. I would rather do Steel Creek to Kyles as it would not be as long. What do you think Bob?

I would love to join you guys on a float tomorrow on the Buffalo. I have never done the Boxley run but looks like there is not enough H2O. Looks like the water is high enough for Ponca but Steels Creek is also fine.

I am coming up for a day trip from Little Rock if anyone wants to share a ride. I can be at the BOC in Ponca by 10:30.

It is a Friday in the middle of July, and I see all the posts debating which stream in the Ozarks to float (Piney, Buffalo, Mulberry). What a great problem to have.

they just got a good bump of water this afternoon and it's going back up!! i guess we are going to meet at ponca @ 9am. unload boats and gear. and shuttle to kyles. putting us on the water about 10:30... we should have a big turn out of paddlers with 91* temps. and whitewater in July... please note... this is not an A.C.C. FUNCTION. (although it will sure look like it from the water!) each paddler is responsible for her, or himself. and some self rescue swimming may be involved !!
