Fort Smith Rain amounts?

Little Rock radar estimates show 10 to 12 inches in FS; while the FS radar says it barely rained at all last night.

What's the story guys, are you washing away or not?

I had lunch downtown in a local diner on Monday that would have been washed out if we had received 4 - 5 inches of rain.

I checked the calendar and it isn't April 1. Sounds like the Extends folks have been messing with our measurement devices over here.........

I'm guessing it has something to do with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals visit to town. OMG, Tina Turner legs and Grace Slick voice and Stevie Nicks cuteness

I think it was very localized. I played golf at hardscrabble yesterday and it was very soggy. So I think south part of town and the airport area got a bunch.

Waded through the streets Sunday night after the first heavy storm, then it continued to rain all night. Ditches flooded and water cascading down the streets. I need to get a rain gauge but the precipitation analysis from NWS showed 4+ inches over my address. Picked up about another .5 yesterday evening .... too bad it all didn't fall over somewhere more useful :-)

I guess the rain really was localized to the airport where the weather stats are collected. Otherwise downtown would still be mopping up!
