Bear creek is running

Look at the bear creek near omaha arkansas gauge. I have never done it but I hear it is great surfing.

Hey Dan!

Ounce for ounce Bear is some of THE best surfing in the entire two state area.

Go tomorrow. Go early. Took a peek at the gauge and it will be bottom doable tomorrow or a little lower. Falls out fast this time of year. 3' on the USGS is what I have always called minimum and that corresponds with about a foot or so on the painted bridge gauge. Any lower? Don't bother. And I would be surprised to see it at three tomorrow morning. Big spike up with the rain we had today, but is falling out just as quick if not quicker with no more precip support.

Don't know what the lake is doing and that determines how slow your paddle out will be.

Have fun, and be safe!

Just took another peek at the USGS.

Bear is over. Came down in a couple of hours to a 1.69, which is way below doable.

Look at the gauge for today july 8. It is spiking again. Above 5 feet and rising. I have to run a couple of errands and then I will check back in. I might be able to run it today, if not it might hold until tomorrow. (417) 350-414six. call if you want to run today or tomorrow.

Yea, I was on my way to run it after work but it got a little too big. It is dropping fast but we are headed that way in the morning. We will be at the put in around 8:30. Hope it holds

Bear Creek is between Omaha and Lead Hill. Put in is under the bridge and one of the take out spots is at the end of Minnow Dr. You take Old Lowery road than a right onto Minnow.

We had a good time running it early friday. I feel lucky since it was probably the only run going in the entire area.

We got on Friday as well. We put in around 8am with the gauge reading 2.6. It was a great run with some great surfing. At that level, some of the holes dissapeared but it was actually an optimum for several of the ledges.

If this is running tomorrow, I think it would be great to get on for the first time. Any one free?
