It looks like Buckville is the place to go for some lake action, but has anyone spent time on Greers Ferry? Just trying to see some alternitives since the creeks and rivers are pretty low now.

5 of us paddled seakayaks on the White river today, Six miles up stream from the Town of Beaver and then back down to our cars, and had a delightful day today. Tablerock lake is high and so is Beaver Lake.

Last summer we paddled Greers Ferry Lake from the sugar loaf landing out and around sugar loaf then did the hike to the top. The spot at the top where you can look down 500 ft to the lake was something. The hike up involves some stairs and walkways that are attached to the bluffs. We took lunch and by the time we got back to the landing we felt like we had accomplished something. We will be doing it again at some point. I would like to do it in the atumn when the trees have changed. Tim

Have not been to Greers Ferry yet, But have done Ouachita a bunch and love it,

Great put-in points to see some great scenery and not see many big boats are Ceder Fourche Point, and Irons Fork! We love it up there!

Good Paddling

I paddle Geers Ferry and like most lakes this time of year you need to go early in the morning to avoid the power boats. I have a house close to the Narrows and I decide on which way I`m going by which way the wind blows.
I have paddle from Choctaw to the narrows about 14 miles and would like to paddle from my house to the dam which is about 20 miles.
I like mainly in the winter when its not so busy and the eagles are out

Dart,

Without knowing in which section of the state you live, and how close you are to either lake, they are both very nice. I just love the Buckville area on Lake Ouachita, and also hope sometime to paddle out to Sugarloaf Mountain Island on Lake Greers Ferry. Since the temperatures are hot and muggy now, I would suggest either fairly early or late in the day.
