HOMETOWN THROWDOWN #1

Post by Jeremy M » Mon Jun 07, 2010 11:55 am

Alrighty...its that time again!!!

The first Hometown Throwdown event of the summer will be held this weekend....June 12 at 1:00p.m. at the Rockport Ledge...

Special Guests from Team Jackson Kayak will be on site and here's the skinny on that...

Boyd Ruppelt will be down at the ledge by 10:00a.m. for a intermediate/advanced Men's and Women's Playboating Clinic before the Throwdown!!

His bio here: http://jacksonkayak.com/factory-team/boyd-ruppelt/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then in the afternoon, his better half Samantha Brunner will arrive for a more informal clinic on playboating and a J.K. outfitting and boat clinic....

Here is her bio: http://jacksonkayak.com/regional-team/samantha-brunner/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

After all of that they will be at the shop (O.O.O.) for a meet and greet and premier showing of the new Hotel Charley....

The format of the Throwdown will be a standard Rodeo, then a KING OF THE WAVE COMPETITION!!!

Free Prizes, good friends, and Great Fun!!!

If you haven't been to a Throwdown before, just ask the folks who came last year!

Oh Boy I can hardly wait! :D Maybe I will win another Dog leash or some more Duct Tape like last year :clap: I Bet Renee wins all the good prizes again she has some good Karma when it comes to the throwdowns. :D Is there a contest for surfing Dogs? Rouge has already run the Tot at 5'3 so surfing should be easy for him, not sure about cartwheels yet :clap: See everyone on Sat.

We won't have the big level, but for the rest of the month it looks like Rockport will be running from 10a.m. until midnight every day...so we will have water for the event, which is going to be BIG FUN!

NOTE: THE CLINIC WILL START AT 10 AM AND THE THROWDOWN IS PUSHED BACK TO 2 PM TO ACCOUNT FOR REST TIME AND FOR WATER TO RISE FOR CLINIC

Now that everyone's all fired up about the throwdown its time to ask for some volunteers...

Do you know what a cartwheel, helix, pistol flip, loop, mcnasty, or a phonix monkey looks like? Yes or no, it doesn't matter...just need three volunteers to be judges. You'll have a lot of fun and maybe even be bribed with libations from participants. :beer: :beer:

Hope to see everyone this weekend for a good time.

I don't know what any of those look like, but I do love to be bribed with libations!
