Rockport Memorial Day Pictures

Post by garyreinhart » Tue Jun 01, 2010 4:03 pm

Here are a few samples of my perception of some "Smooth Operators" at Rockport.........hey did anyone check and see if that kid on the Boogie Board made it home or is he STILL LOCKED ON THAT WAVE?????????? What a hoot! Moving water is a captivating thing, don't cha think?

OK I tried to put 4 images on here, but only got 3.....??? It looks like you have the option for 4...???

Just totally awesome shots, Gary.

Thanks for posting! Wish I could shoot like that!

Any chance of getting some EXIF on those?

All data is with the original hi res file, not with these made for email, but here are the basics:
Cannon RebelTSi
AI servo focusing, shutter priority. Handheld.
70 - 200 mm L series lens Type II image stabilization on.
100 ISO
Polarizer to suck up some light.
10th to 15th@ F32 of a second or so.....for motion, I also shot at high shutter speeds to stop the action.
Daylight balance. Type II image stabilization.
Max res jpg file.....anything else? No flash.
Some you will see a little filtering for an arty look....glad you liked them!
Thanks

Very cool, Gary. Thank you, sir.

What struck me is that not only were you able to stop the motion of the boats/boaters, but also got a nice softness of the piles. Yet got a crisp clean look of the green water. All this while still not suffering too many shadows on the faces of the boaters. Everything that should be stopped was, but yet everything that gives the shot motion, is moving!

Very nicely done, Gary. I enjoyed those immensely. I'm just a hack, so I sure appreciate you sharing your info with me.

Again, thank you, sir!
