camping on the Cadron

Post by aquagirl » Wed May 26, 2010 8:15 pm

Anyone have any info on where to camp? I've been trying to reach CCO for the past couple days & phone just rings & rings . . . . read somewhere about a campground at Pinnacle Springs but can't find any info on it. We're planning to camp somewhere Thurs & Fri nites & get some paddling in. . . .

Thanks,
Beth

CCO is the only place I know of. Hopefully somebody has a better number for you to try. John, come in please! (-:

Yeah, what he said. Wooly Hollow is very close and nice campsites too. That's where we camped last time we ran Cadron. If you know how to go the 'back' way from Wooly to Cadron I think it's only like 15 mins. I can't remember the name of the road  I keep hearing CCO is in business then I hear out of business :? Not sure. :?: I remember their campground was primitive and prone to flooding during really big storms. We found one of their vaults toilets between the campground and Hwy. 65 couple years back.

I had to e-mail John directly to reserve campsite and boat for this weekend (Friday thru Sunday). They are open but have become increasingly exclusive -- or should I say reclusive.

Schuyler who oversees the campground tells me they can best be reached at cadronboy@sbcglobal.net -- but my experience is that it takes a couple of days before you get a response.

Thanks for all the responses. . . with water levels what they are we're heading to the Mulberry this time but hopefully will be able to arrange to camp at CCO another time.
