The Jones Center in Springdale is doing a Summer camp this year with different themes each week. During their outdoor week they are wanting to fit in an Intro to paddling class for the kids. I'm trying to see if their is enough interest within the club to help them out. The camp is for kids 8-12 years old. The dates for the class is June 22-25th 9am-12pm. We would do 2 classes a day with 15 kids max. The class would be in the Jones Center pool. Each class lasting about 75 minutes. With that short amount of time I see it as mainly demoing boats and learning a few basic strokes. The Jones center has a budget to pay instructors and rent gear if necessary.
To make this happen I would need at least 5 people each day to help out. You don't need to commit to all of the days. Due to work schedule I can probably only do two of them. Also we need kayak gear for the classes. If you have equipment we could borrow that would be great too. If you can volunteer in anyway let me know. If you have done anything like this would want to organize it I'll be happy to hand it off to someone

.
I need to let the Jones center know soon if we can do this. If I don't get enough responses by May 7th. I'll need to let them know we can't do it so they can look for other options.

David-
I looked at my remaining vacation and can probably do all 4 days since they are only half day classes.

I work 5 minutes away I could easily do three days 3 hours each day. I also have 4 boats to throw in the mix with gear. Put me down this could be a good deal for the club.
