Yee Haw.. the rains last evening and this morning have elevated the Caddo to almost eight feet!! With tomorrows sunny skies projected, and higher river level, we'll be headed that way. I suspect the river will clear up and fall rather rapidly today but should be very enjoyable tomorrow.
At this time, Marlo and I will plan to arrive at the Glenwood Bridge about 10:45 in the morning to meet other interested parties and set shuttle. I would expect the river to fall below seven feet today so it should still be a sporty level for tomorrow.
Best Regards
Jim

This is just great, it sounds like we'll have a nice group in the morning! The level continues to drop but that's to be expected this time of the year when all the lush greenery is sucking water from the river as though through a straw... At any rate, I still expect the level to be somewhere around 6.45-6.50ft by put-in time so we'll still have a very decent float. We'll see you all in the morning.
Best Regards
Jim
P.S. Beth, got the extra equip. loaded.

Re: Caddo River, Sunday
Thanks everyone for joining me on the Caddo yesterday, it was such a lovely day and just made the nicer with your company, and all the fun surfing and catching eddys!
For yesterdays trip, Marlo&I plus Gary&Karla met Minna Ulmer, Burt Lambert, Beth Forbes&Dave Hoch and son Zachary at the Glenwood Bridge to find a very decent flow on the river after the previous day's rain. With the added flow, we decided to head up to the Swinging Bridge for our launch to start this 9+mile trip. For all the years I've floated this section, I've always put in under the old swinging bridge, at the site of the long washed-out Manfred low-water bridge. At any rate, I was surprised and delighted to see that the Arkansas Game&Fish Commission has now completed a very nice little new put-in&parking area about a couple of hundred yards upstream of the swinging bridge!
It was a great trip yesterday, we really didn't see very many others on the river, but with my new-found knowledge of my camera's video function... I was looking for opportunities at the main rapids we stopped at...
So good to see you again Bert! and I was also really pleased to cruise along with Zachary yesterday and visit, he was in his mom's hero and I think he caught about every eddy we all did! Thanks all for a nice day. Now, let's hope for more rain.
Best Regards
