Fair Warning: If one or more speaks up, DeBo and I will be there. But if no one replies, I reserve the right to kidnap DeBo and take her to an undisclosed location!

OK, OK!! I'll speak up. I want to go, was about to send an email to Mikki to see if she was going, since she lives fairly close. If nobody else speaks up, go ahead with your kidnapping scheme. Haven't I seen Chuck Dovish paddling at Wattensaw? I don't know a lot about that area, except DeValls Bluff, and that's only childhood memories of fishing there. I'll watch the board for an update.

Mikki said she is going. But she thought the float was Saturday. I'm waiting to hear back from her . . .

Sorry for the confusion about the date. I was looking at my calendar and not the rescheduled date on the web site when I e-mailed Jan about coming. YES I will be there Sunday with bells on. I came across some pictures posted of one of your trips on the web that showed Coper handling a really nice sized cottonmouth moccasin on a previous trip and would not want to miss the chance to see a repeat performance(from a respectable distance of course). See you all Sunday. Mikki

That was me handling the moccasin and if there is one to be seen I will try to get it for you. See you at 11 tomorrow!

Sorry about the misname. It was early in the morning and I had not had my first cup of coffee. Great pictures and really impressive size cottonmouth. See you in the morning.

Debo and I will be there in the morning, but will be away from the Internet after I log off from this post, until we show up at T-ricks. From about 10 on, we should have cell service - 501-four72-6eight73
It's "on" - just be there, no reservations required!

We had a really great trip on Sunday. There were nine of us in eight boats. The weather was perfect and he water level was good too. We put in at Hwy 11 and took out at the first boat ramp. At least two deer were flushed out. Cowper spotted a Black Rat Snake climbing a tree. As we were leaving the tree Mikki spotted another big Rat Snake basking high up on the limb of another tree.
Thanks everyone for coming and making it a fun day!

Re: Wattensaw Sunday 4-11
An interesting trip, with somewhat of a different "feel" than many of our other swamp floats. Due to the back-water flooding from the White, there was only a barely perceptible current. It was a relatively shorter stretch than we normally do, so shuttle was simplified, and the trip would have ended too soon if we hadn't been distracted by the snake sightings, followed almost immediately by a woodpecker territorial dispute. At least, that's what we think it was - a couple of smaller woodpeckers were harrassing a larger one for several minutes, until the larger one finally decided it just wasn't worth hanging around. They were so focused on each other, they didn't even seem to know we were there.
Also, having already seen sunrise on our "trip before the trip", I didn't feel my usual need to see sunset on the river. All in all, it added up to a pretty laid-back trip, and I think most in the group appreciated getting off the river at a reasonable mid-afternoon time. And I slept reeeeaaaallll good.

Re: Wattensaw Sunday 4-11
Ok, I missed Wattensaw again. So let's quit talking about trips I or me didn't get to go on. What is coming up on the agenda since the tax season is over. Isn't there at least one more trip.
Oh Yeah, I'll be betting that Cowper had something to do with that woodpecker fight. I'm not buying the territorial dispute thing. Cowper said something about one of their mamas. I'm sure of it.
