New to the area...looking for a paddling group!!
I'm looking to tour my way around central AR. I am a recreational paddler handling up to class III in my rec boat, but I enjoy the backcountry quiet water too! I'm new to AR, originally a New Englander and just looking to hit the water. Hopefully someone out there might be able to tell me how to get involved with these outtings and maybe have a little info/advice for me! ;c)

You've come to the right place!!!
We have over 600 member households in the Canoe Club, and probably dozens if not hundreds more who may not be members of the club but use this message board to plan trips, share stories and advice, and find other kindred spirits!
If someone posts a trip on the board, you are always welcome to join in. Trips posted on the "General" page will TEND to be a bit more whitewater oriented (but not always) and trips on this Rec page a bit easier or flatwater-oriented. But just ask questions to determine if the trip planned is suitable for your boat and experience level.
On the ACC home page, check out the links under River Info to learn about area creeks and rivers that you see folks talking about going to.
Since you mentioned Central AR, if you are near Little Rock, you can also stop by the Oyster Bar on Markham any FOURTH Tuesday of the month when we have our Central Chapter meeting and meet a bunch of area paddlers in person.
Welcome, and hope to see you on the water soon!
Cheers,
Heather (aka Lupe)

Yep, you're in the right place! This is a great bunch of folks who love all aspects of paddling. They are helpful, friendly, and always have something going on. Just watch for posts, or post your own, and you'll soon be paddling with a new bunch of old friends. Welcome!
