A Kayaker is Born

Post by shelbyjohnson » Mon Mar 29, 2010 11:02 pm

Friends,

Just wanted to share my excitement over our new son. Belinda and I were finally blessed with a new bouncing baby boy. Luke was born on early in the morning on March 4th, in Little Rock. He weighed 7lbs 3 ozs and was 20 inches long. Being a chip off the ole block he decided to wear my paddling helmet backwards for this picture. Hope in a couple of years to have him out on the creeks with all of his paddlin' aunts and uncles here in Arkansas.

You look pretty stinking happy, Shelby!

Congratulations to you and Belinda Brother!

Very cool and awesome portrait of you and Luke! But I'd hazard a guess that he isn't going to be able to paddle your helmet for much longer! Probably better start lining him up for another boat already!

Well done, Man!

That's awesome Shelby, congrats!! The picture is fantastic btw. One of the coolest shots I've ever seen on the message board. I hope you have it framed somewhere in the house.

I like that portrait so much I have been checking it out several times already this morning!

But I just noticed Luke has the same hair as his Daddy!

Nice picture. That's pretty sweet indeed. It's crazy how many boaters are having kids lately.

while I usually have well wishes and congrats for new parents, I don't usually post them. but I have to say CONGRATULATIONS on the arrival of Luke. You see, not only is that the most awesome pic I've seen, but I also recognize an open boating brother (or nephew) when I see him.
Sorry Shelby but he's got OPEN BOATER written all over him.
