Floating somewhere latter 1/2 next week?

Spring Break is next week. Wife wants to camp and float somewhere? Weather and water permitting. OK, I do too. Probably looking at middle or lower Buffy. Planning on going up maybe Wed. a.m. and floating Thur., Fri., and maybe Sat. again weather and water permitting. Anybody up for some weekday floating? Any other suggestions? Please post. Could be up for a different location. Overnighter? An alternative might be the upper Ouachita? Again weather and water permitting.

I am interested. This will possibly overlap with the scheduled Buffalo trip so I may have to pull off on Friday depending on how flexible we can be.

We are looking at coming up Wed. a.m. Just let us know where and when. The when is the most critical. About the earliest we can be at a put in is between 10:30 and 11:00 depending on the where. We are planning on leaving El Do around 5:30 a.m.

With no definitive plans made we have decided to camp amd float somewhere on the Ouachita instead or maybe a lake. With Thur. looking like rainout, wife wants to be near an alternative destination. I'm sure OOO will figure in sometime; with us being that close to Hot Springs.
Clif, Richard, hope to make a float with y'all some other time. Clif, keep us in mind for that Gilbert to Maumee and Rush to Shipps after school gets out.

Wound up going to Shady Lake in the ONF. Beautiful little mtn. lake. Nice campground. Got poured on Wed. night and froze Thur. night so the camping trip was complete. Got those 2 requirements out of the way. Wind kept the boats on top of the XTerra most of the 4 days. We did some paddling on the lake and fished a little. No luck only caught 4; found out later lake was drained 2 weeks ago and won't be restocked until April. :roll: Made a side trip into Hot Springs and stopped by OOO. Leaving wallet in car did not help; still wound up buying some stuff. Did a little sightseeing and some hiking. Went over to Little Mo. Falls. and Albert Pike. Rain ran us off the Winding Stair Trail Sat. p.m. Drove thru 3 times on the way back down to El Dodo. Still all in all a good trip. Will try to post pics later.
