Postitive news for Colorado boating rights..

Post by panicman » Tue Mar 16, 2010 12:35 pm

Check out mountainbuzz's forum on the boating bill. Looks like it made it out of the senate committe with the added language of including private boaters. This is huge for colorado boating.

Holy crap! That's great to hear. CO boaters need all the help they can get with access - it's been a rough deal for them in many cases. The state makes big bucks off it's mountains of melting snow every year, but ironically they've done almost nothing until now to ensure tourists can actually access those rivers. Man, I bet if the state of Arkansas was raking in half of what CO does from whitewater tourism, there'd be a law securing access for boaters in short order. Heck, our law situation is/was better than CO, and we basically have the Mulberry compared to the Arkansas, Poudre, Taylor, Colorado, etc.,etc.

Happy news indeed!
