Re: galla creek scrape down
Sweet! Thanks for putting this out there.
Good day, fun creek.
And it ended the way every good day on the river should - sometime after sunset!

Re: galla creek scrape down
That does look fun...where is Galla at? I've never run that one...does it run fairly often?

AW description at http://www.americanwhitewater.org/conte ... l/id/3651/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
which also links to a more complete description found on Fish's Ozark Whitewater page, both have traditional "road turn" descriptions.
On Google earth I measured it out at 2.7 miles of creek, with 0.7 miles of lake to get to the parking area.
The beauty of this one is that it is only 2 miles North of I-40 Exit 88 (Pottsville). If you're in the area, you can check it out without going on a major road trip, and move on if levels aren't right. Also, you can bomb the run even when daylight is short. I think lots of the more local paddlers will often run multiple laps when it is good.
My perception is that it runs about as often as Richland does, but it only holds the water for one day. Waterhog or Anthony could give a better answer on that one.
Watch out for wood. The location of this one running through private property makes it a less than ideal place for chainsaw-wielding beavers, and it shows.
