No outfitters for that river that I am aware.

sounds like your pretty green you might want to put the tot off for a while and get some experience on some other creeks that ar a little less dangerous or maybe the lower tot below gilam lake

Depending on the time of year and what you are looking for you might try:
1. The Big Piney
2. The Mulberry
3. The Buffalo

I'm not sure if any of the other rivers have outfitters.

Ditto to the above responses...

But I believe the park interpreters there sometimes do kayak trips on the less whitewater (more safe!) sections of the Tot. I'm sure this would be only late Spring/summer, but you could ask about it at the visitor center. I'm pretty sure this would be a guided trip with the interpreter, but it might be an option in warmer weather.

But for a trip on your own from an outfitter, the other rivers mentioned above would be the way to go, or also the Caddo or Ouachita Rivers have outfitters (and would be closer to that neck of the woods).

Cheers

The Cossatot is very rain dependent, so we just don't have professional outfitters that run any guided trips. That's why some are talking about needing a lot of experience; it is a whole different deal than say the Ocoee over in TN where someone with no experience can jump in a raft and be just fine because the guide "captains" the raft and tells everyone what they need to know and do.

If you can make it over to Cleveland TN, then the Ocoee would be a GREAT place to take your sons for an exciting whitewater trip.

If you're wanting to do something in Arkansas because it is physically closer to home, then the Buffalo, Big Piney Creek, the Mulberry, the Spring, and the Caddo would be on your list of possibilities. Cross the Spring off during the summer weekends, unless you wish to share an R-rated experience with your sons.

These rivers are much easier than the Cossatot, but all have a good number of Class 1 and Class II rapids, and outfitters that would rent canoes or rafts even if you have only very limited experience. In return for having "easier" water, you get something that has scenery, some excitement, and more of a sense of self-accomplishment because you're in control of the boat without help from a professional guide.

Tell us more about what you're looking for, and we'll try to help you find it!

For the right price I will take you guys down in a raft!

FYI: I guided out in CO and have a raft here in little rock.

Its a long way from here and would be a lot of effort, but if your interested we could talk about it.
