Grand Canyon Trip Report

Post by Jeremy M » Wed Jan 27, 2010 9:11 am

Hey, I put together a preliminary trip report from the Liquid Logic self support XP Grand Canyon trip...check it out on the store's BLOG.

At the February Central Chapter meeting, I'll go into more detail and put together a slide show/movie presentation to go along with the full on trip report...

Way to go Jeremy!!

What a trip, Awesome way to do the trip and what a group of adventurers to float with.

Top notch installment one on the trip and I am going to add "professional level writer" to your already long list of achievements.

Keep the installments coming.

Awesome Jeremy, hope to make it down the canyon once in my life. I agree with Roman, that picture of the ultra turquoise water is crazy.

Great report, Jeremy! Wish we had some overnight self-support whitewater runs around here (the planned variety for you "spooners" out there - you know who you are :poke: ).

Reminds me that I found a great web site on self-support kayaking (SSK). Even if you never plan to do SSK, there's a ton of great info on gear and low/no impact camping that's worth the read. And the guy seems to be very resourceful and budget-conscious, showing that you don't have to throw fist-fulls of cash at SSK to go light, comfy, and efficient. Check it: http://www.earthenexposure.com/kayaking/home.htm
Let there be rain!

I watched the weather for Phantom Ranch while you were there. Eager to here more but glad that we were off in Mid October!

I found a cool little island in a river down here the other day. It already has a fire ring and some good spots for a tent. It will be an easy first step to doing overnighters in my whitewater boat. I'm looking forward to spending some nights out there soon!

Harlan,

I'm in on the meeting...just call me and get me a date and time...

Stay tuned for a review of all the equipment that I took with me. It was the ultimate gear test.
