Ski gear?

Post by JBradley » Tue Jan 05, 2010 6:24 pm

I'm in need of some snow gear for only a short period of time. I'm getting married in tahoe on feb. 5th (gone 4th - 9th) and apparently we were given some lift tickets. I don't snowboard much so i dont have any gear!

here is my proposition:

I've got tons of outdoor gear, boats, paddles, jackets, machinery, tools, and the ability to fix just about anything. I would like to borrow these preferably from a fellow boater. I'll lend you a creeker and the gear to get it done. Need a table saw, drill press, circular saw? no problem, borrow it and get those beginning of the year honey-do's done.

Let me know something before i haul out and sierra trading post it up.

I'm 5'9", 160lbs and dont mind being on the baggy side.
if possible she is 5'3" 120lbs? she would be ticked no matter what i wrote

Happy new year all!

Josh,

What airline you on? Scott and I fly out to Reno on Feb. 4 and fly home on Feb. 9 (Southwest) - we are staying at Harrahs in Reno and going snowboarding on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. We are staying on the north side of the lake 5th - 7th and going to Heavenly in S. Lake Tahoe on the 8th. Which resort did you get lift tickets to - maybe we can meet up with you guys?

As far as gear, we just take kayaking helmets (mine is a Sweet and Sweet makes snowboarding helmets and you can't tell the difference). Get a good jacket (Ozark or Ouachita has nice ones) and pair of pants (you can find cheap ones at Sports Authority or Academy). You can layer with your paddling stuff. We found a place where we can rent snowboard and boots for 4 days for a total of $70 for all 4 days. They rent a brand called Head. Hope this helps. If you need numbers for that place, holler. We plan to go to Northstar and Squaw (they have night skiing) and either Sugar Bowl or Alpine on the 3rd day.

By the way, congratulations on the marriage!

Oh, and for your fiancee's gear, check with Sabrina Mellor(she's pretty small, too). She may have stuff, but I don't know for sure.

thanks tim, renee and T for your support.

Tim, its crazy! we been together for going on three years. she doesnt paddle much but she loves to take the shredder down piney and the buffalo. hope all is well.

Renee, sounds crazy but our trip is exactly the same days as yours! we fly to reno on united on the 4th and return on the 9th! We are going to heavenly, but we arent staying at harrah's. we thought about and decided to get a huge house. some 5 bedroom rediculousness that we plan on having a blast in. i think it would be neat if you guys could stop in. I talked to Joe C. but we never ironed out the details.

T, I will ask annie what she thinks ... you still live in the same place?
