OT - 1 Volunteer Needed for Earth Day 2010

Post by Half Ton » Tue Jan 05, 2010 4:24 pm

Hi All,

I and some others are looking for 1 volunteer who can give up a couple of afternoon/evening hours on Earth Day 2010.

This volunteer will need to be able to man a table with a sign in sheet for volunteers and to hand out provided cleanup supplies to those who show up.

The only pay for this work is a free meal, potential door prize, pat on the back, good publicity for the club and, of course, river brownie points.

This creek cleanup is the Scull Creek Cleanup, and is along a portion of the Scull Creek Trail in Fayetteville (A stretch of trail adopted by NW ACC Chapter).

If interested just post back or send a pm.

In the meantime - Surfs up !

John

In response to a good question, I am replying that many volunteers are welcome and encouraged to participate in taking care of a water resource.

1 person who is able to - is desired for a leadership role.

Date has been changed do to need for an earlier cleanup need - the creek be trashed....really trashed - and because ACC main helper along with Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association - felt a conflicting time schedule for Earth Day-ish was a big challange.

Expecting about 250 peeps. should be a good cleanup with mondo press.
