Pre-Liberty Bowl Paddle: Cadron on Saturday, Jan 2nd

Post by Ryans_Brother » Thu Dec 31, 2009 2:44 pm

Want to paddle before Arkansas paddles E. Carolina in the Liberty Bowl?

4-5 of us are meeting at the Cadron take-out at 10AM. The level should be near optimal. We want to get an early start so we can play all the features and still get done in time to watch the game.

Dress warm. The temperature looks be around freezing when we put on, with a windchill lower than that. The high for the day is only projected to be 42, which should hit about the time we take off the river.

Post here if we should look for you at the take-out before we shuttle to the put-in.

Happy New Year!
Rick

I think Gordon and Marcell are meeting at 11am, but I could go whenever. Who all you got with you Ryan?

I will be joining you out there. A little kayak cross training instead of my usual flatwater canoe paddle.

A group of us actually went Friday 1/1 and had a great time. The level is indeed about perfect. It was cold but sunny so it was good! Experienced the new put in and loved it. (Please respect the landowner!! and drive slow and close the gate behind you!!)
Enjoyed the beautiful Buffalo like bluffs upstream that the added mile or so provided. Cadron Creek is really a special place and one of the most under appreciated streams in the state in my opinion.
It was a great way to kick off a new year!
Skoboten!

Went yesterday and it was indeed fun! Monica and I slept in so we are going to Rockport and floating down from the dam since level is high.
