I have put in on clear creek at chester before. I was wondering if anyone had put in higher up the creek than that. If so was it worth it and exactly where the put in was.
thanks

Can put in at Shaberg access. Would need to look at Tom Kennon's book to get directions. Or this:
http://www.americanwhitewater.org/conte ... l/id/6651/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and this:
http://www.americanwhitewater.org/conte ... directions" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Enjoy as it's a gem!

Alot better run....1 sweet 4-5 footer, and a really good surfing hole right above the Chester access area.

There are actually two separate runs above Chester.
The Shaeburg run and Howard's Fork - AKA - "Tom's run".
Here is a video of Shaeburg:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 4942141410" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Clear Creek starts about 6 min into the video.
and this is a write up of "Tom's" run.
http://www.paddledogproductions.com-a.g ... tripreport" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This runs starts in Tom Burroughs back yard.
There is only one 14 foot fall above where we put in.
No one has run it as far as we know.
And Tom's run has only been run twice.
The only gauge is to call Tom and ask if he can hear
the rapids from his back porch. The put in trail crosses his private land.
However, considering Tom is the ACC President, I will attest that he is "Paddler Friendly"
He might even be talked into running it with you or at least running shuttle.
Happy boating.........

That link doesn't work for me. Looks like it's directing to a video of the Clear Fork of the Arkansas in Colorado but no video ever shows up.

Click on the part near the bottom that says "Watch this video on youtube.com".
p.s. If that's in Colorado, that would explain the continuous action! lol

Maybe Steve can chime in about the original video...
Here is one of his older videos of Clear Creek. The first half is of the Middle Fork of the White.

Hmmmmm................
Don't know what happened to the link in the first post.
Regud's link is the one I intended to post.
Clear Creek starts about 6 min into the video.
