Hey Dale - Some of us from the Fort are going on Thursday if we get something good.

So far, it's looking good to the south. I'd like to hit Crooked Crook again, or maybe head over to Oklahoma and hit Clear Creek.

Of course, if we get good rains in the Mulberry area we'll probably stick around there. I'm hoping Mormon Creek, but surely that won't happen.

Have been talking to Shelby and may try for Wolf Bayou in Cleburne County and still watching Richland, etc.

Doubt the Oklahoma stuff will be going tomorrow since the rain gauges in the area aren't showing much. Heavy stuff will be far past gone by boating time, so I wouldn't count on Mormon.

Would shoot for tot area (lower gorge of Crooked in early, maybe; Baker laps all day) with only a couple other creeking options in the state (spillways and the mank of Drasco).

Unless you are family obligated with major plans that would get you written out of the will for your inheritance this ain't no day to be in a hurry.

I can't recall the last time I saw an area of this geographic extent showing upwards of 5 inches estimated precip. If I'm counting correctly this link is showing 12 counties where the geographic extent of the entire county is estimated above 5 inches. Generally you get smaller areas of heavy precip totals but not many like this.

Whenever I leave the state, it seems to rain in Arkansas. Happy paddling and Merry Christmas!

Enjoy! Currently 32 here with wind chill in the teens. Actually under a blizzard warning thru Friday morning - 8" +/- 4" snow predicted. Going to be a little more interesting getting over the river and through the woods to Grandma's house this year...
Let there be rain!

Got a new kokatat dry top yesterday and had visions of testing same some times soon. However, No way do I want to be outside after my little test run a few minutes ago.

I hope all you guys and gals on the water anywhere in the great state of Arkansas, get home before the brunt of this storm hits.

Here in Jenks (borders Tulsa south) it has been raining. Just now at 1 o'clock thursday, the rain has stopped and we are now at freezing and howling wind and sleet. Temps headed toward the twenties later on this evening and night.

Just made the final run down to Reasor's grocery in Jenks for the Christmas Eve dinner and it was brutal getting across the parking lot. Stinging sleet and wind going like crazy. No snow yet but radio sez it will be a blizzard later on.

Be safe on the water and be more cautious on the roads as this storm clears Tulsa and heads east. If I do get to boat later on, I need plenty of back up as the season gets into 2010!!!!!!

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas a happy New Years and good runs on the water---
