I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on the Lower Richland run. Are there alot of pools? How many hours on average does it take? What other river would you compare the rapids to?

Depends on the level. The first three miles have a slew of class 2-3 rapids that can be big and pushy, after that it is pretty flat with a fair number of tree jungles. If you are talking about from Stack Rock down to the Buffallo, plan on a lot of tree shuts, and pools. Dale

Dale,

Can the trip be shortened to avoid the pools and mainly paddle the class 2/3 ?

Not really, you can paddle the 1st mile and carry back up, or try to take out at Zach and Dave Woods' cabin, but the road is class5+. Dale

Not Dale, but check this link (S2 section in infor) for takeout for the usual Lower Richland run with the fun:

But to answer your question, yes, you can cut the trip short of the lower lower section Dale referred to.
