The Jones Center pool is Open

NWARK Canoe club is sponsoring roll sessions again this year. These are informal roll sessions. We usually have volunteers that work with people learning their roll, but the number of people helping can vary. If your willing to work as a volunteer let me know which dates you can commit to.

Where: Jones Center

When:
December 12 8:30am – 11am
December 19 8:30am – 11am
January 9 8:30am – 11am
January 30 8:30am – 11am
February 20th 8:30am – 11am
February 27th 8:30am - 11am

What to bring:

• Kayak gear

• optional: a friend (if you don't have a friend one will be provided for you). This a good way to introduce your buddies to kayaking and to the club .

Rules:

• Rinse your boat

• Don't run over the swim team

• Come in through the South Entrance or the outside pool Entrance

• Drain as much water out of your boat before leaving, last year we spilled a lot of water in the hallway.

I cant say that I will make all of them, but I will sure try to make most of them.

I'll be there this Saturday. I am not sure how much help I will be to the new comers. I plan on trying to teach myself the sweep!

I can't make it this Saturday. I do have the rest of the weeks on my calendar so I hope to see several new boaters working their skills. I have always used this opportunity to work on braces and forward strokes. I found the better my ability to paddle straight and brace got the fewer combat rolls I had to make.

Gear Loaded, hope I will be there. Had a bad week neck wise, but Lord willing, I will be there.

not gonna lie.....i'm pretty excited about getting back in that nice warm swimming pool.

Will we have the roll session regardless how cold it is this Saturday 1/9? Just curious if the Jones center (or us) has a limit. Mike P

I haven't heard from the Jones Center that the session on the 1/9 has been canceled. I'll try to find out tomorrow and post whether its on or not.

I just verified with the Jones Center that the pool will be open for the 1/9 roll session. If you want to brave the cold come on by. I'm out of town so I won't be there let me know how it turns out.
