search and rescue on Illinois Bayou

on saturday, a freind and I did the bridge to bridge run on the Bayou. After the run, we shuttled back to the putin bridge on hw 27 to find several s&r vehicles and a command center set up. Asking questions of an officer about what was going on, he was very tight lipped and the mood was somber. what he did say was that 3 people were lost on the river, and that they had been found. He would not tell us anything more. I hope we were just reading this wrong, but things did not appear to be O.K. . Does anybody have any info on this.

I will contact Pope County OEM and see what I can find out. I hope it wasn't anything too serious.

Just talked to my son. It was 3 hunters that were lost and they were found safe and sound, no injuries. He has access to all reports on a phone device he carries so that is how he knew what occured. Glad to hear they are ok.
