What a fine day on the upper Buffalo! Great water, georgeous scenery, awesome surfing, and absolutely beautiful foliage! Can't wait to catch that one up again.

What would you say is the ideal air space at the Ponca bridge to do the Boxley to Ponca run? What would be too low??

if you look over the edge , before the elk foundation on that corner, if you think you can make it???? it good! that is the low point.and that would be about 15 to 18 inches (boney)

Well, it was my first time on this run, so I can only tell you from yesterday's experience.

We put on with about 6 inches of airspace and took out with 8-9 inches of airspace. This corresponded to roughly 4.0' at put in and 3.8' at take out (Boxley gauge). We only scraped in one shoal and for the most part it was fluffy and fast. But I would have liked to caught it with a little more water given a choice in the matter. It seems to me that the perfect level would've been 0" airspace, or about 4.2' to 4.5' on the Boxley gauge. Not sure how much dragging and scraping would've been involved at a lower level. I DO know that I have a new favorite play run! When it's up anyway. Many, many places to get in great surfing and spinning!
