I might be able to go. Water should be great! Got some rain again today and expecting some Wednesday. Looking for just partly cloudy skies on Thursday!
I was going to try and do either the Buffalo or Mulberry this week. Maybe both if I can get off Thursday and Friday!! :-)
Need to see if I can get the time off though.
With the water like it will be it will probably only take 3.5 hours max to make it to Kyles from Ponca. Of course that will leave a bunch of time to be able to make the 40 minute round trip hike up to the tallest waterfall in Arkansas at Hemmed-In Hollow and see it running and still have plenty of time to do whatever!

Wonder how long it would take to go from Ponca to Pruitt Landing?!?! maybe 7-8 hours? And could probably go up to Hemmed-In Hollow - My brother has never seen it.
We're just coming out for the day - we have the rest of the family showing up in Tulsa on Thursday night - so we don't get to camp this time.
Hope you can come play!

A few weeks ago we didn't start until 10 or 10:30AM and made it from Ponca to Pruitt before dark and even went to Hemmed-In Hollow!
But, it is an extreemly long trip... Like almost 24 miles!!
The Ponca to Kyles is a good mellow trip and you wouldn't have to hurry! If the water is up the trip from Boxley to Kyles is a pretty good one and clocks in at 16.7 miles and is quick as the upper is pretty fast water and hardly any pools.

Any and all of that sounds good to me! Let's meet at Ponca at 9am and flip a few coins and decide where to go from there... and that way if no one can come, I can still get the BOC to shuttle my truck.
I just loaded the canoe and am almost foaming at the mouth...lol!

Looks good for a Thursday run for me! Unless something blows up I have the day off!
Hope we don't get too much rain tonight as the water is rolling pretty good right now and would be at about 12 inches under the bridge tomorrow to make it a high perfect float.

Well Kids -
It's Boxley Bridge to Kyle's Landing tomorrow. Shuttle running at 9am and hitting the water at 10am. Come if you can!

Hiked down to Hemmed in Hollow on Sat and the Falls were awesome. Sneeds Creek and Rocky Bottom were flooded though. The take out for the Falls via boat might be a little tricky and the hike in trickier...but it was rockin!

If the water is close to where it is right now it should be OK. I went a month ago or so when the water was up and there was a cool whirlpool effect there that you need to stay to the left to get in. If you don't stay left you shoot right past it and can't get back as the current is super fast!
Here is a pic of me at the falls last month when we stopped by:

We made it!! Had a great time and saw all the sights! The river was just about perfect and Hemmed-In Hollow had a good flow over the falls!

That was a good trip! Tricky put in with all the willows at Boxley, and a hydraulic that ran the width of the river before Kyles. I'm glad I let my brother steer her - I would've dumped us both times! LMAO! Great float! :)
