Wanting to know the put in point for Cadron Creek run and takeout. Looking to float it tomorrow. Any recomendations great. Thanks, Chris

The typical run is from a new put in to the Hwy. 65 bridge as described in the link below.

FYI - I've added a blurb on the ACC website front page, so that folks can find the info even when the active Cadron threads drop off the front page of the message board.

Also, for those who had already read the details on the new access, note that I added a new recommendation to consider NOT driving down the very last bit of incline to the river. That very last little incline is the roughest/rockiest bit of the whole road, and most likely to deteriorate over time, especially being used right after it rains. Instead, consider parking to the RIGHT in the grassy (grassy-ish) area and just carry down the last little slope. It only adds maybe 10-20 yards, and will prevent that bit of road from getting torn up. Note that there is a little-used turn off to the LEFT at this same area...make sure not to park in any way that would block access to the road that goes off to the left.

I personally would suggest the stretch from the 65 bridge to the 285 bridge. It is a 10 mile float that would only take about 3 hours with the water as high as it is now. It is the most scenic part of the river. Driving time from one bridge to the other is only 10-15 min. Have fun whichever route you take, and be carefull. The Cadron is rising pretty fast right now since we have had non-stop rain for over 12 hours now here in Greenbrier.
