Hello everyone. Just wanted to say Hi. Brand New paddler here. Only been in a kayak a few times and love it. Hope to meet everyone and hope you don't mind me picking your brains lol. I see a few names here that I already know from other forums so hello to all again.

Hey Clif, just about that. I have a Old Town Rush 9.6 I believe it is, just wanting to learn how to deal with it. I want to do some kayaking camping on some easy rivers as well as some large lakes. Looking at a 15.6ft Perception... Swift I think it is. I think I can get a great deal on it. I have paddled it and its sweet. Just learning so I need more boat hours. About to work this pond out back of the house to death though lol.

welcome Eddie, Keep a eye on the recreational section, as Richard Mrfadden usually does a monthly float on the Buffalo. If you paddle a kayak, there are plenty of us that will help you carry camping gear in our canoes if you want to join us on a overnight float...look forward to meeting you...Pam

Thanks Pam for all offers. My camping gear is very mimamal. I have gotten my gear down to about 29lbs over the years lol. Should be even less than that as my pack accounts for 6lbs of that. I need to figure it out I guess lol. I figure 2 dry bags evened out both bow and aft an all should be good. Now that you mention it I guess I should start figuring it out. I do plan on trying to make a few of the trips. The buffy is one of my fav. places. There and Albert Pike. Hope to get to meet all of you guys and gals.
