Rendezvous for beginners

Post by Skeeter12 » Wed Sep 16, 2009 9:37 pm

I'm brand new to kayaking, only been out a few times. I have a blast every time, and I'd like to meet up at Rendezvous to learn some critical skills (rolling and other techniques) and talk with some experienced paddlers.

I'm currently shopping for the right boat, so I don't have a boat or paddle to bring to Rendezvous... I have a nice PFD, but thats it right now.

Would anyone be interested in bringing an extra rec boat and paddle for me to rent on Saturday? I'm 5'7 and 145 lbs and interested in easy river running if that helps anyone determine which boat to bring!

Thanks in advance!
Clarke

Thanks, Karla! That would be great!

I really appreciate your generosity, and I look forward to meeting you!

I plan to be at Couchdale Saturday morning around 7:30 or 8:00.

Skeeter,

I will be around Friday and Saturday and will be happy to help you in the pool with rolling / bracing.

There are also several nice paddles avaiable in the silent auction as well as an almost new Liquid Logic CR250 (river runner / play). If you have any money to spend on gear bring it because there are also several pieces of nice paddling gear that usually go for great prices.

This years boat raffle would also be a great all around boat. Spend 5. 10 or 20 on a ticket and you never know.

See you there.

Thanks, Mike! I am really starting to like this group already!

I would love some help in the pool with rolling and anything else you'd like to teach me.

I'll be sure to check out the silent auction, and don't see how it would be possible for me to pass up the raffle tickets :D I've had my eye on a LL Remix XP as my ideal boat, so I can't in good conscience pass up the opportunity!
