Buffalo Got rained on

All the rain gauges but Boxley got an inch to an inch and a half of rain last night and this morning.
And most of the gauges below Ponca are reading "low, but floatable", and rising.... And the following link looks like it will keep rain training for today, although the train is drifting south ....
http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/Conus/so ... s_loop.php..." onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
and the weather channel says high 70's to low 80's and partly cloudy Sunday and Monday.....
So Susan and I are probably going to go do a day float on some section of the Buffalo, yet to be determined as we want to see where the gauges go. I'll try to post where and when we are going if anyone else wants to go and shuttle with us. I'm probably going to take the Endurall so I can carry a cooler and Susan said she will take the Skreem.
Hollar if you already got a section picked out and we might go with you if you do not mind company. Will probably be a crack of Noon type float, although crack of 10 or 11 might be possible.

Eric, there is a slim chance I might be able to bring grand kids. A few obstacles to overcome first, but there is a chance.

I've got a rack full of boats, paddlers for each, and a shuttle car that are going from HW 14 to Rush tomorrow. At least that is the plan tonight. Will repost here if we change plans and levels change overnight.
We are leaving from the old Sam's parking lot on 71 Business in Springdale at 8:30AM and will run shuttle when we get there, probably leaving Warren Cunningham's Car at Rush on the way to the HW 14 bridge. This is Warren's first trip and he wil be in my sea kayak. Shooting for a crack of noon or earlier put on.
My cell, if anyone can reach me is 479-721-9101, and I will be in the old Suburban with 4 rack bars and orange foam over the front ones.
Hope to see y'all.

Richard, when did you get your picture taken for your avatar?

I took the picture Aug 13 at 11:58PM. It dragged my duffel bag about 20 yards from my cot (which I was sleeping on) before I awoke, realized what was happening and took it back. I went back to bed but had my camera close by and when I heard the raccoon approach I grabbed the camera and took the picture. the white eyes are a result of the eyes reflecting the light of the flash.
But that ain't nothing!
Do you see the Indian Princess shrunken head? It is lying on the gravel bar between the raccoon and me and a little bit to the right. I was not expecting a response so I am not sure why, but I asked her what she did that was so awful that they killed her and shrunk her head. Know what she said? She said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I am not fibbing. I am telling the truth. Honest Injun. I then asked her if there was anything I could do for her. She told me NOTHING. So I left her there. Pretty sad huh.

Just wanna say "thanks" to Eric for having me along. Was a good float, we dragged some, but never had to get out of the boat.
About midway through we got about 20-30 minutes of a good rain. Still, great float.
Also saw a beautiful Bald Eagle on a bluff. Its kinda hard to see something when the person in the back of the baot is telling you its on "that" tree next to "that green spot" over there when all you see is a bluff covered in GREEN TREES!
By the way, PainterBob, your dog was very well behaved and will make a good river buddy.

Here it is. She is on her right side slightly face down. Top of her head is the part closest to the raccoon.

Richard,
I saw it pretty quick; the rest of these yahoos just don't apparently have any imagination.
P.S. Do you see stuff in clouds, trees and rock formations too.
