Is this Legal?

I came to my dorm the other day and there was a cop walking a drug dog down the hallways. Then again today he was just walking it through students around campus. Entrapment?

My best guess is yes. They used to do that at the high school I attended.
As far as walking around campus goes I also would say yes.
move off campus. if a law enforcement officer knocks on your door, be polite, but firm. Always ask to see a warrant. If they don't have one, tell them they need to go get one. It doesn't pay to be unkind towards an officer of they law, but do stand up for yourself. believe it or not we the people still have rights and shouldn't feel bad about standing up for them.
My favorite line is "if your not doing anything wrong, then you don't have anything to hide."
So what if i don't have anything to hide, I am not in the habit of allowing complete strangers complete access to my house or car. Maybe I have something better to do than be inconvenienced by law enforcements search of my home or car.
Perhaps at some point I could knock on their door and just ask to come in and take a look around to see if they might be doing something illegal or not.
Sorry if this is a little bit of a rant.

You probably signed away that right in your housing contract.
Although it may draw attention to yourself,
attempt to follow the officer with a video camera.
At least it will make him/her follow the proper rules
of searching. If they tell you that you can't follow
with a camera, ask why.

Paddle dog is right. When you payed that $$$ live on the campus you gave your right to expectation of privacy away to a degree since you live on a public land.
They prolly justify it as looking out for the safety of all students.

It is clear from this thread that drug testing may be in order for paddlers living in on-campus housing, or the greater Fayetteville area in general. As a public service to those paddlers the RBF will conduct drug testing free of charge. Just bring your drugs to any RBF member, or to the RBF World Headquarters and Tora Bora Test Range in Fort Smith and knock on the front door. The password is "cat pee on life jackets." (if there is a cop parked at either end of the street just drive on by and try to look nonchalant).

It's legal. The same reason that drug dogs can be used by walking them through a crowd. Though if you ever get into any kind of argument with any cop, tell him you need his badge number (they are required by law to give it to you for indentification, they just don't advertise the fact). You can literally see his ego shrink by the second, and most of the time if they're insisting on entering, they'll instantly stop and leave.
