Nice of you to post the results. It takes dedication, much training, and a travel budget or did when I was trying racing in kayaks. Glad they like it. What boats (make/models), gear, and rivers were they paddleing on? Never seem to be able to find those lists or the limitations when I try to look up latest rules.

Don't worry, I'm a has been who never was a contender, and I decided long ago I didn't like me as much when I competed cause I took it too seriously. Do what ever makes you happy.

Definitely takes a budget to travel 2000 miles round trip and stay in a motel for a week. We were paddling a couple of different canoes. A savage river C1 for the solo race, and a Wenonah and a Savage River Proboat for the tandem races, it takes a couple of different boats when you are racing with the big Sayger family. We used power surge Zaveral canoe paddles, 6 to 10 ounces in weight.
