I have been working on the weekends and not paddling, (a real crime) and now that the water is up...I'm still working :) I am off this wednesday and I was wondering if anyone else was planning a paddle trip that day, or if anyone could recommend a good place for me to paddle alone. Thanks everyone :)

Hey Sam. I work in the hospital also on the weekend. Would enjoy paddling with you sometime, but most of the rivers are too low or have recently dropped after the last rain. You could try going to Rockport and paddle at the ledge. Usually many people will be there throughout the week. If no more rain by then, I will probably head out there Wednesday or Thursday for a couple of hours.

Wednesday 5th I can get off to paddle Caddo or Ouachita (showing lower optimum on Ozarkpage). Anybody interested in one of those? Lower Little Missouri should also still be runnable though boney.

Can't go but Dragover @ Mt. Ida would be at a good level. Chris I bet you would like this section plus you can do it by your self because you walk the 1/4 mile shuttle to get your truck, and at only 3 miles can run it multiple times. It would be a good place to practice some things tomorrow too. Also the Little Mo below the dam is running this week.

All of those options sound good, save for one. paddling alone.

I know it isn't whitewater, but it will be wet, cold, and flowing - White River below Beaver Dam. 5 or 6 of us are plannning on meeting at 9AM in the parking lot below the dam to set shuttle for a 13 mile float to the town of Beaver. Both turbines should be at full flow 24 hours for a couple of weeks as they draw down Beaver to it's conservation pool of 1120 feet. We will mostly be in sea kayaks - some plastic, some fiberglass, probably a couple of wood, but anyone would be welcome to join us. Just bring a lunch, suntan lotion, your beverages, and all your gear as we stop to eat along the way. Last week we saw a mink ambling along the side for over 5 minutes, before he swam out to us, diving under our kayaks to swim back upstream. Water should be about 6 foot higher than last week, so I don't imagine we will drag anywhere or have to paddle near as much to make time.

Thanks everyone. I've never been on any of the creeks or rivers that anyone suggested, so I believe I will try Rockport...I have at least a vauge idea pf how to get there, unlike everywhere else. Is anyone else going out that way tomorrow?
