Lee Creek Float Monday - After Work

Post by iYak » Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:01 am

I'm thinking about heading to Lee Creek for an after work run today (Monday, June 15th.) Should get there around 5 ish. I'll be taking my boy Max, we will take it slow and play most of the way down.

It looks like Lee got up to around 6.8 or so last night, the latest reading at 7:15 am is 5.6. Should still have some fun play at that level.

It's going to be a real nice day for a float, anyone in?

dam it rob - you've finally given me reason to miss Ft Smith (that, and seeing a lot less of Mongo)

If West Cedar gets hit I don't want to hear about it.

Well, I have gotten myself all fenced in and can't make it today. I have to say that plan you hatched sounds really, really good though !

FYI - Yesterday late afternoon when the lightning and storms passed we seal launched off the bluffs by the Bridge for a short run and it was real BONEY!
The river left takeout below the rock outcroppings will be a challenge -
There are about 4 huge trees down blocking the parking lot access; so if you take out there be prepared to drag your boats thru brush and squeeze between the fencing!
It was still fun paddling!

Well that doesn't give me much confidence. But I'm hoping the river just hadn't risen yet.

Has anyone seen Lee Creek today?

sorry I didn't see your post earlier. My son,Avery, ad I went early this am and it was pretty minimal. the trees are a major mess at the takeout lot. then we went to hoop and holler at noon and Avery got his first combat Roll!
