Ricky,
The water was shut off for a dive team to inspect the dam yesterday. I will give them a call and see what I can find out for the 13th.

Re: DEIRKS LEVEL FOR 6-13???
Ok, Barry with the COE says it is running at 750 cfs of now. As far as he knows it will be running at that level this weekend, BUT a deviation has been put in for a bass tournament on the lake side. As far as he knows it hasn't been approved. IF it is approved it would be shut back but only for a short while. He has promised to let me know if there are any changes.

Re: DEIRKS LEVEL FOR 6-13???
On both accounts we talking about Sat. the 13th. All the info I have I gave. Tiffany has told me that RARELY are deviation's allowed. If they do allow it he told me it would be for only a short time. What that is I don't know. As far as he knows it will still be running at 750 on Sat. I will be watching this very closely!

So,
Just to calm everyone down....I've just talked with Tom and he has spoken with Tiffany at the local C.O.E. This request for deviation was not put in at the local office, but at the regional office. In the past requests like this have not been approved and there is no indication that it will be approved this time. What we need to understand is that the local C.O.E. is excited about this event and with the help of Tom have been extremely accommodating not only this time, but in the past as well. I say three CHEERS for Horseshoe Bend, Tom, and the Dierks C.O.E.
See everyone there, with water!!

Re: DEIRKS LEVEL FOR 6-13???
Also, note that releases from the dam by the COE are strictly for flood control. The reason I know this is because Scott (and others) have requested a scheduled release for the fall and they were unable to get it. The COE is pretty strict about keeping the lake at the 526.5 level and right now, the lake is still 9 feet above that. If we can't get a scheduled release in the fall, I highly doubt they will shut down the flow for a bass tournament. Their main concern is getting the lake back to normal levels.
