Re: Rockport
They are still dumping TOO MUCH water due to the lake being way too high. They are hoping by next weekend it will be at the "normal" summer releases.
You can always sign up for the email list or check this link to find out what the release schedule is.

The Corps is releasing about 10,000 CFS from Blakely Mountain Dam in order to drop Lake Ouachita down out of the flood pool. Lake Ouachita remains about 4-1/2 feet up into the flood pool and is dropping nearly six inches per day. We will continue to pass whatever flow we receive from the Corps and local tributaries, currently the release from Remmel Dam is about 10,800 CFS. If we don?t get a lot of rainfall, Lake Ouachita should drop out of the flood pool in about a week and a half and flows will be reduced to about 4,000 CFS. This will take longer if we get any significant rain.

If you live in Memphis, you better have a good vehicle and lots of gas money!
Re: Rockport
Thanks!! Looks like next weekend is a definite possibility.
I have subscribed to the e-mail notices.
Where exactly does everyone gather when the water level is normal?
Thanks again....

You'll have to zoom in some to see anything worthwhile. If you switch from the default "map view" to the "aerial view", you'll see I've put the cross-hairs on the top of the boat ramp, which is where you should park (or close to). Go down that ramp, carry your boat upstream along the sidewalk to put in, and you'll be in the center of things.
